Summer 2008 Field Trips (no formal field trips currently scheduled for 2009)
The weather was perfect yesterday for a trip to Step Falls. The water was cool and the sliding was good. New sliding routes were discovered and dry sliding was in vogue. Kelly, Gabby, Zac, Kristen, John, Kim, Lilly, Nancy, Kyler Eric, Leslie, Caili, Ani, Annaliese and Tarin were some of the local crowd at the falls. Also enjoying the day there were folks from Indiana, New Jersey and probably all over as a group of 20 young girls from a camp in Harrison was there with their councelors. It was great to see everyone having a good time.
Next week’s trip location has been changed. Instead of Hidden Falls, GooseEye Brook will be the destination. This is probably easier to find and wasn’t on the list this year.
So, on Thursday July 24 meet at the Gould fields at 12:00 (after Bethel Soccer Daycamp) to carpool or convoy, or go right to GooseEye Brook. As with Step Falls, wear something that’s OK to get holes in the seat. And Frenchman’s or the Letter S are options along the way.
This seems to be the summer of changes. The schedule of trips has been continually revised to meet the needs of the people. Isn’t flexibility great!? Another (now) forseeable change is Thursday August 21st. Rumford Whitecap is on the schedule, but it’s just come to my attention that the Bethel Library Summer Reading Program trip to BIG is that day. Would Friday the 22nd or Wednesday the 20th work for Rumford Whitecap? Which would you prefer? Get your vote in and we’ll see what it will be changed to.
