Sell & Buy Snow Sports Gear at the 32nd Annual BOC Ski Sale 10/26 & 27, 2012, Gould Academy Fieldhouse, Bethel, ME
Always the last weekend in October, the Ski Sale has provided a community service for over thirty years by bringing new and used equipment from major ski shops and local and visiting skiers, with any proceeds benefitting the charitable purposes of the BOC.
Sale Hours
Friday, Oct. 26: 6:00 to 9 p.m.
Saturday, October 27: 9 a.m. to noon.
Special Information for Ski Shops
The vendor contact for the 2012 sale (for ski shops only) is Chris Hayward haywardc@gouldacademy.org or 207-357-1771. All shops must make arrangements in advance to be part of the sale. Returning ski shop vendors will be notified by email in late summer with details and to confirm their attendance for this year's sale.
How to Get Items in the Sale
Each item must have a signed & completed ski sale tag. Tags purchased and fully completed in advance are free for up to four items & 25 cents each after the 4th item. They are available at the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce (824-2282, located at Bethel Station & on the web at www.bethelmaine.com) and True North Adventure Ware (824-2201) during business hours. This offer ends at 3:00 p.m. on the Friday of the sale.
Equipment may also be tagged at the ski sale beginning after 3:00 p.m. on Friday of the sale but subject to a .50/item tag fee for items that aren’t tagged in advance. Look for signs designating the entrance for “WALK-IN SALES” at the sale venue.
Guidelines for Selling Equipment
Please do not bring obsolete equipment. Ski shops will not work on alpine bindings that are not current by industry standards; also there is no demand for alpine skis that are not “shape” skis.
Buyers are looking for bargains, so you may wish to price your items accordingly. NEW SINCE 2009: Prices on all personal equipment (e.g., other than equipment brought in by our ski shops) will be reduced by 50% on Saturday. If your item does not sell on Friday night and you do not wish to have it offered for sale at half price, you must claim it at the close of the sale on Friday night at 9:00 p.m.
Unsold equipment and checks for sold items must be claimed by presenting each unsold item’s claim ticket between 12:30pm and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday after the close of the sale. ITEMS NOT PICKED UP BY 2:00 p.m. SATURDAY WILL BE CONSIDERED DONATIONS TO THE BETHEL OUTING CLUB and/or WILL BE DONATED TO A CHARITY OR OTHERWISE DISPOSED OF.
